向 你 報 告 ？ 較 大 改 變

我 的 同 事 寫 報 告 ， 常 用 Please be reported （ 謹 向 你 報 告 ） 起 句 ， 這 寫 法 正 確 嗎 ？
這 寫 法 當 然 不 正 確 。 Report （ 報 告 ） 的 受 詞 （ object ） ， 必 須 是 所 要 報 告 的 事 情 ， 不 是 接 受 報 告 者 。 接 受 報 告 者 要 用 to 帶 出 ， 例 如 ： （ 1 ） You must report the case to the police （ 你 必 須 把 這 件 事 報 告 警 方 ） 。 （ 2 ） He reported you to the teacher （ 他 向 老 師 告 發 你 ） 。 這 兩 句 用 被 動 語 態 （ passive voice ） 改 寫 ， 就 是 The case must be reported to the police 和 You were reported to the teacher 。 Please be reported 、 Please sit down （ 請 坐 下 ） 之 類 祈 使 句 （ imperative sentence ） ， 對 象 一 定 是 you ； 換 言 之 ， Please be reported 是 以 you 作 report 的 受 詞 ， 等 於 說 「 我 要 （ 向 某 某 ） 告 你 」 ， 不 是 「 我 要 向 你 報 告 （ 某 事 物 ） 」 。
也 許 ， Please be reported 是 套 用 Please be advised （ 謹 通 知 台 端 ） 的 句 式 ， 但 advise 和 report 兩 字 用 法 完 全 不 同 ， 不 可 依 樣 畫 葫 蘆 。 解 作 「 通 知 」 的 advise ， 受 詞 是 接 通 知 者 ； 要 通 知 人 家 的 事 情 ， 則 可 用 of 帶 出 ， 例 如 ： I advised him of my new address / He was advised of my new address （ 我 把 新 住 址 告 訴 他 ） 。

讀 英 文 報 紙 ， 見 到 以 下 一 句 ： Southeast Asia is undergoing a profound change away from the status quo than Southeast Asia 。 那 profound 之 前 是 不 是 應 加 more 一 字 ？
這 一 句 是 說 「 東 南 亞 現 狀 之 改 變 ， 比 東 北 亞 較 為 深 切 」 。 既 然 涉 及 比 較 ， profound 之 前 自 然 要 加 more ， 否 則 句 末 就 不 能 接 than Southeast Asia 三 字 。 報 紙 出 版 時 間 緊 迫 ， 難 免 偶 然 有 這 類 手 民 之 誤 。
